Advising for Academic Difficulty or Extenuating Circumstances
If you’ve been placed on academic suspension, it means your semester GPA fell below 2.00 while you were on academic warning. As a result, you won’t be able to take classes at Penn State for two consecutive semesters (remember, summer counts as one).
But here’s what’s important: This is not the end of your time at Penn State. Instead, it offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, and reassess your goals. This time away is intended to help you identify what’s been standing in your way, explore new strategies for success, and prepare you for a stronger, more intentional return to your studies.
You don’t have to figure this out alone. The Engineering Advising Center, your academic advisers, faculty, and the Coordinated Care Team are all here to support you. We’ll walk with you through the process of returning to campus and help you build a plan for your academic and personal success. Whether it’s connecting you with resources, talking through challenges, or just listening—we’re here for you.
Your journey continues—and we’re ready to help you every step of the way.
