Recommended Academic Plans

Penn State and the College of Engineering provide a variety of academic planning resources including the Undergraduate Bulletin, sample academic plans, and flow charts by major. The Schedule of Courses also lists pre-requisites and concurrent courses. It is important to keep in mind that these plans show only one way to move through degree requirements. Your academic plan may not be the same as suggested in the sample academic plans. Your plan will depend on some or all of the following:

  • placement test results (e.g. readiness for calculus)
  • transfer credits
  • change of intended major
  • participation in special programs such as co-op and study abroad
  • leave of absence
  • repetition of courses
  • attending summer sessions

The Engineering Advising Center (EAC) serves as the academic advising resource for students in pre-major status (ENGR) at University Park. Once students have been admitted to a College of Engineering major, they will be assigned to a faculty adviser in that major.
