Campus Student Transition Guidelines

Please understand that these transition guidelines are just that, guidelines. Each campus is unique in course offerings per semester and special nuances that might emerge in the suggested academic plan. As always, it is best to speak with your assigned academic adviser to get advice on scheduling, entrance to major requirements, the change of campus process, and general degree planning.

Students transitioning to University Park to continue their education should have adequate grades (based on degree requirements) in the following courses prior to their first semester at University Park:

  • ALL – MATH 140 (Entrance to Major Requirement)
  • ALL – MATH 141 (Entrance to Major Requirement)
  • ALL – MATH 251 (Entrance to Major Requirement)
  • ALL – CHEM 110 (Entrance to Major Requirement)
  • ALL – PHYS 211 (Entrance to Major Requirement)
  • ALL – PHYS 212 (Entrance to Major Requirement)
  • ALL – EMCH 211 (Pre-requisite for EMCH 212 and EMCH 213)
  • ALL – EMCH 213 (Pre-requisite for CE 335, CE 336, and CE 340)
  • EN/GM/ST/TR/WR – EDSGN 100 (Pre-requisite for CE 310)
  • SU – SUR 381, 441, 455, 462

Students transitioning to University Park should have the following courses completed BEFORE OR DURING their first semester at University Park:

  • ALL – EMCH 212 (Pre-requisite for CE 360)
  • ALL – GEOSC 1 (Pre/Co-requisite for CE 335)
  • GM/SU/TR/WR – STAT 401 (Pre-requisite for several CE courses)
  • WR – CMPSC 200/201
  • TR – CE 310 (Pre-requisite for CE 321)
  • EN – CE 370 (Pre-requisite for CE 371)

Students transitioning to University Park should schedule at least two of the following courses completed before or during their first semester at University Park to continue to make adequate academic progress:

  • EN/GM/ST/WR – CE 310 (Pre-requisite for future CE courses)
  • EN/GM/ST/SU/TR – CE 332 (Pre-requisite for future CE courses)
  • EN/WR – CE 335 (Pre/Co-requisite for CE 337)
  • GM/ST/TR – CE 336 (Pre-requisite for future CE courses)
  • GM/ST/TR – CE 337 (Pre-requisite for future CE courses)
  • SU/TR – CE 340 (Pre-requisite for future CE courses)
  • EN/SU – CE 360 (Pre-requisite for future CE courses)
  • SU/WR – CE 370 (Pre-requisite for CE 371)

About

The Engineering Advising Center (EAC) serves as the academic advising resource for students in pre-major status (ENGR) at University Park. Once students have been admitted to a College of Engineering major, they will be assigned to a faculty adviser in that major.
