Engineering Peer Advising Leaders Program

The Engineering Peer Advising Leaders (EPALs) offer technical and advising support to first-and second-year students. This advising support includes sharing resources available to students, offering navigation help for LionPATH/Starfish/department websites, and sharing academic deadlines.

We are always looking for driven students to fill these important leadership roles in the Engineering Advising Center. Each peer adviser works a maximum of four hours per week and can expect to gain significant leadership experience, professional development, and comradery with the other peer advisers. Additionally, students will develop skills in many areas, including leadership, one-on-one communication, teamwork, active listening, empathy, connecting with an increasingly diverse student population, and more. This is an unpaid position.

We are specifically looking for students who:

  • are rising juniors and seniors
  • intend any College of Engineering major(s)
  • demonstrate high academic achievement
  • are attentive to detail
  • are conscientious and helpful
  • have good communication skills (particularly in one-on-one settings)
  • have the ability to work well on a team
