Campus Student Transition Guidelines

Please understand that these transition guidelines are just that, guidelines. Each campus is unique in course offerings per semester and special nuances that might emerge in the suggested academic plan. As always, it is best to speak with your assigned academic adviser to get advice on scheduling, entrance to major requirements, the change of campus process, and general degree planning.

FOR STUDENTS DECLARING ENGAE:

Students transitioning to University Park for the beginning of the second year (Fall semester) must have declared or conditionally declared for the pre-major (ENGAE) during a semester preceding the fall semester and be in the credit window of 13-39. The following (4) entrance to major courses must be in progress or successfully completed with a C-grade or better prior to their first semester at University Park:

  • MATH 140
  • MATH 141
  • CHEM 110
  • PHYS 211
The following course should be completed prior to the first semester at University Park:

  • EDSGN 100 (EDSGN 100 is a substitute course for EDSGN 130 which is a prerequisite to AE 221 and AE 222.)

Students electing to transition to University Park (change of campus) for the second year are committed to enrolling and completing the following major courses in the fall semester.

  • ARCH 130A
  • AE 202
  • AE 222
While the selection of an option is required by Lionpath for entrance to major, it is not until the beginning of the fourth year that option-specific courses are required.

Note: Students should have all of the pre-major engineering courses completed prior to the first semester at University Park. The third year will be filled with AE and Architecture courses. A full schedule is prescribed for the 4th and 5th year as well.

FOR STUDENTS MOVING FROM ENGR_PMAJ DIRECTLY INTO AE:

Students transitioning to University Park for the beginning of the third year (fall semester) must have declared or conditionally declared for the major (AE) during a semester preceding the fall semester and be in the credit window of 40-59). Students must have appropriate grades in the following courses prior to their first semester at University Park:
