Guidelines for Walk-In Appointments

Walk-in advising is designed for short questions or a quick schedule review. Walk-in appointments should not be used as a substitute for a regularly scheduled advising appointment.

Walk-ins are accepted Monday through Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on days when classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters.

Acceptable topics for walk-in appointments

  • General Education information
  • Registration information
  • Adding/dropping a course

Unacceptable topics for walk-in appointments

  • Major selection/change of major
  • Study abroad
  • Internships
  • Concurrent majors
  • 8-semester plans
  • Anything that will take longer than 15 minutes (e.g. planning for a minor, college or senate petitions, etc.)

Make your walk-in appointment effective

  • Silence your phone
  • Have specific questions for the appointment (no more than three)

The Engineering Advising Center (EAC) serves as the academic advising resource for students in pre-major status (ENGR) at University Park. Once students have been admitted to a College of Engineering major, they will be assigned to a faculty adviser in that major.
